sophia and rick james

Wow, summer is zipping past quicker than this old man can grasp at it. Baptizing the daughter this weekend, and Rick James is dead. Something of a circle of life there, though I don’t want my daughter in any kind of circular relationship w/the recently deceased superfreak. My condolences to Mr. James’ family and friends.

The ritual aspect of the baptism is interesting; it’s a rite of passage for the family, and I am really looking forward to it. I’m not too witty at the moment; it’s a Friday and I am fairly exhausted.

The day the comments died

I am no longer allowing the addition of comments to this humble blog, not because of the crushing response of an adoring public (who adores a byproduct of apathy like this site?) but rather due to the coment spammers. If I were really up on my stuff, I would use Jay Allen’s Movable Type Comment spam blacklist. However, since I pay for cheap hosting in a Windows environment and don’t have access to the full set of tools I would need to set up the MT-Blacklist, I will simply consider this a broadcast platform instead of an interactive forum. Fox News, here I come!
