Soldier Field at Night: Bears v. Vikings

Man, it was cold. This may have been Brett Favre's last regular season
game, but I've thought that since what? 2002?

Awesome interactive display at the Children's Museum

My favorite part is when the 5 almost 6 year old Sophia describes how it works. Brilliant. But how does it really work? Arduino?

Google PowerMeter Partner Utilities

Wisconsin Public Service

Kudos to WPS for being a part of the program! Oh, those Wisco progressives. Now, why isn't Chicago's ComEd on that list??

Wishbone rules my cycling world

Saw this on the hostess's podium at Wishbone, a restaurant around the corner from the Fuzzy Math office in Roscoe Village, but I always forget my helmet!

Days of fall past

*sigh*

These beautiful fall days are behind us now, as we tuck into our Turkey or Tofurkey before our long winter's naps...

Barry's beatdown

Ah yes. Here's to proof, delivered on a Friday, that two 40 year old gents can still act as moronic as some 20 something dudes.

Barry and I have been friends for nearly 20 years. For almost 15 years we have played some variety of video game football. From tecmobowl to madden to espn to madden, Barry has consistently beaten me. Until now...

WTF?!? Seen in the loop

Living in Chicago you tend to see some crazy things, but seeing this outside the Board of Trade put a new (and violent) perspective on my day.

Willis, neƩ Sears Tower

Shot this from the river this past summer. I remember when it went up, back in the mid-70s as a toddler.

Between the name change and the observation decks ruining the lines of this building, it's just another symptom of decline for this damn city.

Old school signage, brand and numbers

This sign just slays me. It's at the corner of Elaton and Montrose, hence Elmont Liquors (not to be confused with Belmont, another major street in Chicago).

Also rocking: the phone number is MUL 1666, from a time of smaller networks, human operators, and goofy mnemonic devices.

awesome!

Beautiful fall day in the park

This picture was from a few days ago, before fall became atrocious and rainy.
